How to Open a Garage Door Manually (UAE Guide + When to Call a Technician)
If your garage door won’t open due to a power outage, motor failure, or remote issue , you can usually open it manually using the built-in emergency release system. This is common in the UAE, especially during summer power fluctuations and heat-related motor shutdowns .
Manual operation must be done carefully. Garage doors are heavy, and UAE heat causes springs, cables, and rollers to wear faster , increasing the risk of injury if handled incorrectly.
Never disengage the motor if the door is stuck halfway. A partially open door can fall suddenly.
Lower the door fully. Pull the red cord angled back toward the door (not straight down) to reset the spring lever. Press the remote control. The motor trolley will move and click loudly back into place.
If the power is out and you cannot enter the garage, most UAE automated garage doors include an Emergency Key Release (Vault Release) .
Look for a small round keyhole (silver or black) on the top center door panel.
Pull the lock barrel outward. A steel cable will release the motor mechanism.
